Furman didn't get any sacks, but I think was still able to disrupt the passer.

The pass rush got enough in the face of the UTC QB on this play for him to rush his throw just a bit with hands in his face.

Interestingly, Furman blankets #13 - who was their go to target - with three bodies in the middle of the field. Chizik makes an outstanding play. Had the QB looked to his left he might have seen the open receiver in the zone behind Robinson. Not enough time to do that, though.

I actually really like this razzle dazzle from UTC.

These are gutsy calls deep in the playbook. Once Furman's defense read the flea flicker, the defensive backs dropped deep. Usually these sorts of passes are downfield throws.

UTC sets up the screen nicely. They've got all five linemen in front of the back. Chizik stays incredibly disciplined to stay in his zone. QB puts a little too much air under the ball and allows Chizik to break on what was a pretty long throw.

Best is the reaction of Coach Wright, who was standing right next to where he thought the play was going to be made.

If we have a tied SoCon record with Samford are we co champs
2 way, 3 way, or 4 way, all those involved would be co-champs.

Surely you're not suggesting a menage-a-??? to end the season!

Note to those driving down on Friday Nov. 11 instead of on gameday Nov. 12, please give away your FU vs. Belmont hoops tickets (if you have some) to a relative/friend that will attend, we need a packed house that Friday night to help take down Belmont ;)

3:00 game in Macon. No reason you can’t drive down Saturday and do both!
70 miles south of Atlanta and there's an interstate spur that cuts off a lot of the nasty traffic.

You can drive through Athens to get to Macon, but I would suggest avoiding Athens with a 3:30 UT/UGA game.

that's right. Wrong weekend.

Starkville is a long way from Athens. Alternate route available.

i think we can go to macon and beat mercer.i do not think they can stop our offense now that our qb has been allowed to resume designed running plays after a couple weeks of trying to protect an injured elbow.

Do the Athens route and avoid Atlanta 100%. Great win Dins!
Atlanta is not near as bad on Saturday and Sunday. Drove down Saturday before last and had no problems. Far fewer trucks on the road on Saturday and Sunday! The drive on Saturday morning would be much easier than Friday.

Mercer is leading the SoCon in attendance average this season
With 11/12 being Mercer’s Homecoming, with this game being the biggest/most important Home game in the history of the (rebirthed) program, and with many Mercer fans ID’ing Furman as the Bears’ primary SoCon rival, FUBeAR believes there will be a large crowd. Also, Georgia is at MissState with a 6 PM kickoff, so that’s helpful. FUBeAR has heard that the Bears’ leaders are looking to break the single game attendance record of 12,172 set in the 1st game ‘back’ in 2013.

Hoping for a lot of that crowd to be wearing Purple!

If you haven’t been to a game at Mercer, this is one you should put on your calendar. Here’s an excellent, very detailed, and recent write-up of the game day experience at Five Star Stadium. It’s worth the read … https://stadiumjourney.com/stadiums/mer ... dium-s1721

Also, if you’re into country-ish / Southern music, the pre-game live concert on the intramural field (Black Field) adjacent to the stadium is usually quite good. The 2 ‘headliners’ on 11/12 are Dillon Carmichael and Jupiter Coyote https://www.jcmerch.com/

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
