Will be at the game with three other Furman fans, and there is apparently a pretty good group of other Chicago Furman alums that will be in attendance. There was originally going to be a watch party at a bar in Chicago, but the alumni office received feed back that everyone was going to the game! Looking forward to seeing the Furman contingent and seeing the Paladins play. A good opportunity to pick up a big non-conference win. Loyola is very good, but they aren't the same team that made that magical March run. Hopefully we can keep it to within 5-6 well into the second half and make a run late.

Interesting note - Massey rates Loyola as the favorite in every game they play this year. Nevada is the only team with a higher rating but the game is at Loyola. Maryland is very close in the rating system but the game appears to be on a neutral court. Sagarin doesn't rate games until the day of the game but Loyola would be an underdog to Nevada and Maryland.

The bookies have Loyola as about a 10 point favorite.

I did not see first half. We had huge lead and then LC goes on 20-0 run.

Bright side: Gurley had 8 pts and our 3 point shooting can’t be any worse!

Great win! Matt was fabulous before his home town fans. Lyons, Gurley were big time and Mounce sealed the victory with monsters slam! Bob Richey and staff had the team well prepared. Go Paladins!

!!!!!!! 60-58 FU win on a last second DUNK by Mounce.

To shoot that poorly and to have had 15 turnovers? Great win on the road.

FU All The Time. Awesome win. Got down in the second half on the road to a final four team from last year and fought back. Slam dunk emphasis on the win. Awesome.

Loyola was pre-season # 26. Great effort in the closing minutes. Booya on the slam by Mounce to close the door and turn out the lights.

Unbelievable win with a depleted squad.

Matt Rafferty played hurt, with so much heart. But he always plays with heart.
Jordan Lyon was "coldblooded"
So many guys - everybody came through tonight.

Tremendous effort by the team. Very impressed by the defense, even during Loyola's run I think the problem was mostly bad offensive possessions that gave Loyola opportunities in transition. Loyola missed some open shots but also made a lot of tough ones.

There are things that will need to get sorted on the offensive side, which is expected in the wake of graduating 3 starting guards. Lyons can't be the only guard out there looking to score. But if the Paladins can really excel defensively throughout the season, that will take pressure off the half-court offense.
