Samford gets the Cats at home this week. So, hopefully they can hold serve and stay ranked before coming to Greenville next week.

Seems likely that we'll have a shot to knock off another ranked team in the form of UTC or Mercer. They play one another before either faces Furman.

ETSU could theoretically get back in the game. They have Robert Morris this week, but UTC and Mercer coming up.

FCS Coaches Poll at 32
https://www.cbssports.com/college-footb ... ches-poll/
It says updated today, but that's the exact same poll as last week. Can't be right.

Speaking of not being right, I see Samford is still getting love for beating a Kennesaw State team that appears to suck pond water this season.
I guess it must be the 3 first down performance it had at Georgia, or the big comeback win on the road Saturday at Tennessee Tech. We all saw what a football powerhouse TT was last season.

Voters may be looking at them losing to UGa "only" 33-0, but it appears Kirby Smart was doing everything possible to not run it up on the guy that gave him his first coaching job.

Several others have us in the 22-25 range.
The Coaches Poll is not out for this week. I think it comes out this afternoon.

Samford has looked good this year…particularly on Defense, which is SHOCKING!!

Let us rejoice in the success of our SoCon brethren, the way that MVFC, CAA, and Big Sky fans rejoice in theirs. Rising tides lift all boats and rising voices lift all rankings.

They were down pretty big to Tennessee Tech, and managed a late comeback.

Tennessee Tech has a win against a transitioning D2 school (Texas A&M Commerce), which I didn't even realized played football. Tech was shut out by Furman last year at home. So, open question, I think, on whether Tech is any good.

I'll agree, Samford's defense has been playing better. However it's a pretty low bar there. Slightly concerning, perhaps, is that after 20 years Chris Hatcher may have discovered that defense and a sound running game are key components to winning football.

Good job. Furmam jumped 11 spots and garnered 80 more votes than last week. 👍

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
