Even though not shocked, it is very surprising.

FUBeAR is not surprised. FUBeAR 1st coveted young Mr. Huff becoming FU’s starting QB on 3/13/21 when he was wearing blue & lighting up the PFL.

Hope he is everything for us that FUBeAR thought he could be way back then. If not, don’t blame FUBeAR…it’ll be Coach Roper’s fault…or the purple helmets…not FUBeAR’s! :D

Doesn't matter to me, and I trust the coaches. But unlike last year we have some depth at QB and two guys with college-level experience. Whomever starts should have a short leash. And if we get up big Thursday night or whenever, we need to see some of the other guy (something else that didn't happen much last year until it was too late).

Hendrix has said numerous times that we will probably use both quarterbacks.

That is it is Huff isn't super surprising. Huff is the older and more experienced QB at this stage with already a sustained record of success.

Positive for Furman fans is that our QB room is probably deeper than any we've had in a while.

Honestly, I was surprised at how physically big Huff was when he arrived. At 6'1 208, he's a few hamburgers shy of Devin Abrams.

He is stout. When I met him I thought he was outside linebacker or strong safety.

A few tidbits from the game notes:

1. Ryan Miller looks poised to easily jump into second in Furman history for touchdown receptions - he's got 16, only 2 behind Brian Bratton and Billy Risher. Still a ways out from Chas Fox's 26.

2. Miller's got a shot of moving up to top 5 all time in receiving yards. It's impressive because he's got the fewest number of catches inside the top 20.

My only question is this. Isn’t PC non scholarship since Huff arrived 3 years ago?? Meaning he was a non scholly recruit ?? Is that true or was he offered when PC still had scholarships a while back ?

(A non scholarship QB scares ,me some but at least I know Jace is behind him so neither of them can do that 5-25 passing or whatever we did vs damn Citadel yr or so back. Good grief. With two good ones you would get yanked having that type day

Sam Wyche was a “non scholarship QB.” So if you become too “scared,” you can comfort yourself with that knowledge.
