6'10 Riley Allenspach has committed to Western Kentucky. Normally you tend to think there is an advantage in being an early offer to a player, but not in this case. Western Kentucky is the most recent of Allenspach's 16 offers. I wonder if there is a family connection involved. I am not 100% certain, but I think Allenspach is the son of Brian Allenspach, who began his career at Davidson but only played one year there before transferring to Western Kentucky.
Money talks!

If WKU is spending any extra money on Riley Allenspach I feel bad for them :D

Kayden Fish has committed to Iowa State. Another guy whose recruitment soared after getting an offer from the Paladins. He had a handful of low- major/mid-major offers before but within a week of so of the Furman offer he had offers from Xavier, Davidson, Colorado State, Boston College and ISU.

If we're still interested in guards, my hope is that we land Mier Panoam. Kid looks like an ELITE athlete and complete player. Another guard also gives us 5 for next year, which is probably better balance for the roster and eases a bit of the log jam that currently exists at the wing / forward spots.

Usually when we get guys they commit right after a visit to Furman, so this dude may already be out of the picture for whatever reasons

No reason to think that's the case. Players do sometimes commit right after visits but every situation is different.

A quick check of my records indicates we have received twenty commitments from high school players who later signed with us over the past 7 years. Only four players committed before August 1st of their senior year. One of those was Alex Williams, who committed on July 30, five decided in August, five in September, four in October, and two in the spring after their senior year. Eddrin Bronson makes five of twenty-one before August 1st.

So 10 of those 21 have come by sometime in August

For the 2023 class 4 of the 7 guys we have offered have already committed somewhere, 3 guys still left on the board

Tommy Humphries says that he will announce his decision on Monday at 5 PM CT. Interesting timing.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
