Vanderbilt loses and finishes 17-16. Bet they are NIT bound. 😳
They are. We should be also.

The NIT looks like a pipe dream right now

Maybe we should go to the CBI, get 4 wins (for school record 26) and a trophy!
It would be absolutely worth it if we would end up with 26 wins and a trophy. Anything less, probably not worth it.

If the players, especially our seniors, want to participate in the CBI i am all in favor of it. It provides them with another challenge, more exposure for the program, and the chance to continue to develop our young players. Go Dins.

An interesting dilemma.

If Furman doesn't get into the NIT and we pack it in for the year, at least the program and its supporters know that our team didn't leave anything on the floor in Asheville - we finished with a BANG, not a whimper.

How would it feel to sign up for a pay-to-play in order to prolong our season only to be eliminated by someone like . . . let's say Wofford?

The Basketball Classic/ CIT doesn't look pay for play anymore according to their Wikipedia. You simply give up gate and concession receipts. Jason Donnely said to wait and see what is in store next for this team. I will wait.

IMHO NIT bid is bordeline for sure. Dins NET is 79. Chatty is getting a 13 seed which means the committee thinks there are 12 teams in the tourney that are seeded less than Chatty. Arguably Dins would have gotten 13 seed meaning they are in top 52 in the country

NIT should be that at least 1 Team from top 15 Confs should be represented in the NIT. Its the only way to get a true head to head strength of conferences

See below one NIT bracket with the NET rankings to the right. The Teams with the * are the Conf winners. It will come down to how many of these win their trouneys and dont take NIT bid

No way South Carolina, St Boni and Drake should get in before Dins unless politics gets in the way. SoCon commish needs to cash in a few favors on this one...

I'm waiting too.

Could be CBR and JD have differing ideas on this issue. Who has the Final Word?

Let’s hope the players and coaches have the final word.

almost beleivable except Clemp NET is 83 and had a horrible year in the ACC. If SC and/or CU get in before FU... well... FU

Mississippi State is making a huge run in the SEC Tournament. What could have been had we pulled that game against them. A win there might have gotten us in the NIT for sure. Oh well. Still holding out hope for that bid.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
