I hope our teams sweep up in Asheville.
Question: If UT-C wins the Men's Tourney, would that mean an auto-bid to the NIT for the Paladins as regular season Runner-Up?

If you are talking about an at-large bid it’s possible but unlikely. Remember a lot of slots will be taken up by regular season champions that don’t win their confetence tournament. So we need to pull for all the regular season champions to win their conference tournament. There are app. 20 of these.Davemeister wrote: ↑Wed Mar 02, 2022 9:21 amThanks. Any chance we would be awarded an NIT slot outright - if we fail to win the Tournament?
Right now, Furman stands at 80 in the NET. They should be in the NIT at large conversation even with about 12 NIT bid thieves if the committee is objective. That statement by JD is interesting. Maybe he thinks they will be objective this year? I know the last Furman NIT appearance a couple of years ago was at large.apaladin wrote: ↑Wed Mar 02, 2022 10:15 amIf you are talking about an at-large bid it’s possible but unlikely. Correct, they are currently a top 25 team in both polls at #22. No way they could leave them out. The only other team that would have a chance at an at-large is South Dakota St. at 27-4. Of course instead of taking a deserving team like SDSU the committee will take a 9th or 10th team from a power 5 with an 18-15 record.
