I'm all about calling a flop a flop when it happens. But when did legitimately drawing a charge become "the opposite of sportsmanship"?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the point of the tweet was the video is teaching youth how to sell illegitimately drawing a charge. I.e., how to "flop" upon trivial contact.

Drawing a charge is legit. No one has said otherwise. Flopping under any circumstances is not legit, and is not good sportsmanship.

I must be watching a different video. I see a kid about six years old being taught to get in a good defensive stance, to move his feet and get his feet out side the restricted area to cut off penetration. When contract is made to go down. I do not believe we want a 180lb man running into this kid to teach him how to properly draw a charge.

Flopping is not bad sportsmanship. If the ref call a charge it was a good play. If the ref does not, the offensive player gets a lay up. It is up to the ref to make the right call. Also how much contact does it take for it not to be a flop?

Of course, flopping is bad sportsmanship. It does not matter what call the ref makes. The definition of flopping is when a player over exaggerates contact and falls backward trying to simulate a foul. It is against the rules and a player can be warned and charged a technical. As for the video, it was just our way of poking fun at Woffy, the king of flopping teams. It is obvious they practice flopping. They do a great job at it too. It is still bad sportsmanship.

Wofford lost a game this year because they (Larson) flopped at the wrong time. They were playing Coastal Carolina back in December. They had fooled the refs several times earlier in the game but Larson was charged twice in the last 43 seconds with blocking with the Terriers leading. The second time turned out to be the game deciding play. Wofford was up by 1 point with 1 second on the clock when Larson was called for the foul. The guy with the ball was a long way from the basket when the foul was called He was not going to get off a good shot. The CCU guy hit the FTs. Game.

Fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly, floppers gotta flop.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
