Would take some research to confirm, but FUBeAR believes LOI’s are still binding & doesn’t believe Worker-Athletes can enter the Portal before they report for their 1st official practice. So, since he (reportedly) signed on NSD1, FU would have to agree to release him from his LOI if he wanted to follow this (speculated) move by Coach Quarles.
Quarles also became Furman's OC in December 2016. I doubt Carson Jones, a '22 grad, even played for Quarles and, if he did, it was for a short period of time.FUBeAR wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 10:48 pmWould take some research to confirm, but FUBeAR believes LOI’s are still binding & doesn’t believe Worker-Athletes can enter the Portal before they report for their 1st official practice. Hopefully, he chose Furman (over other schools) for more reasons than FU’s current OC’s legacy at his HS. That said, FUBeAR chose Furman (over other schools) for the sole reason that one of the “Furman Fillies” was not entirely unfriendly to him on his Recruiting Visit. She spoke to him in a nearly non-dismissive tone & even smiled (almost) at him once. FUBeAR was SOLD! So…one never knows the decision process for 17 year old young men. For some, it may be a $3M NIL package and for others, it might be a coed with excellent acting skills.
I'd have to think Bratton is the most logical choice - young, experienced, Furman guy, played for Hendrix, Hendrix kept him from the last staff, knows the offense, already passing game coordinator.

Or was our bottom rated offense the fault of the OC? Quarles was billed as a great offensive mind when he came. At any rate, he is known as a quality human being for sure.
