Pass D. Oh

Third and 9. … First down

No kidding. If you're going to stress about Samford getting first downs, you'll probably need to watch another game.

Samford's offense is very good and very efficient. They're going to catch a lot of passes and move the sticks today. They do it against everyone. Not just Furman.

Nothing fancy from Samford on opening drive. Couple Welch runs, curl routes, and finding Jai Creamer in the end zone.

Samford is changing their snap count and Furman is tipping their blitzes before they come. Liam Welch is too good to tell him we're going to have fewer men in coverage.

Of course we don’t run our 245 lb running back on 3rd and 4th short yardage when he is gaining 10 yards a carry.. we will save him for something else.

I mean, we can't run him every play. Pretty sure we got the first down though.

THAT is what the offense is supposed to look like.

Physical rush attack. Play action downfield for a score.

Run downhill on 3rd. If you don't get it, do it again.

If Samford stops us 4 times on the goal line, then kudos to them.

Well two places in the red zone for short yardage would seem a fairly opportune time.

That actually probably worked better for us. Instead of Clay scoring, Furman was able to pound the ball in Samford another three plays.

After we get the INT, we punch it in from 2 yards out to go ahead 14-7. I couldn't make the trip today, but it looks like a good number of Furman fans did.

Lot of Furman folks in Birmingham.

Last time I was at Seibert, if you took out the students and the band, I thought Furman had more fans than Samford.
