An interesting breakdown of schools getting votes in today's AP Top 25 hoops poll:
https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/rankings

6 schools do not have football (Gonzaga, St. Bonaventure, Xavier, Seton Hall, St. John's, Loyola Chicago)

32 schools in FBS Power 5

6 schools in FBS Non-Power 5 (Memphis, Houston, Uconn, BYU, Colorado St., Ohio)

2 schools in FCS (Villanova and Furman)

1 school in FCS non-scholarship (Drake)
Interesting that three of those schools are Furman, Drake, and Colorado State. Niko is quite the builder.

Any way to see what his model said for the Louisville game?
I believe it predicted us to lose by 12 or so....

early in the season so these models are still figuring things out.

Paladins were 10-point underdogs per Pomeroy. I noted elsewhere but it wasn't really that huge of an upset in mathematical terms, it was more the context (storied Louisville program, etc.). Just being at home is worth 3 points.

Generally speaking, top mid-major teams tend to be a bit underrated early in the season with systems that rely on prior year data and regression formulas (e.g., Pomeroy). It's the most accurate approach overall though (as opposed to wild swings based on a handful of early games).

Vegas had the Dins at +10.5. It was too easy.

Odds Shark has FU at +6.5 and Belmont at -5.5.

Awesome so far. They want to take away the three so we’re just blowing past them to the hoop.

I was worried the guys would still be buzzed from Friday's exciting win. But they appear focused and aren't intimidated. Go FU !!

No signs of being satisfied with the win at Louisville; that's a good thing. Good offensive execution even though Belmont is doing a good job of covering up Bothwell. Fouls are a concern (again).

They're holding Bothwell to only 2. Meantime their guy, Wood, is hot with 10.

These gotta be OVC refs for sure, big time bias in favor of Belmont on the calls

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
