Thanks to utc for not trying to score at the end of the half and taking 2 timeouts with them to the dressing room. I guues their coach figures 7 is enough and FU isn’t goung to score unless they give FU something. FU has 4 first downs and 84 yds in the first half, just awful offensive football.

Our radio announcer - if we could eliminate third and long as a thing we would lead the free world in yardage. LOL. He had a point. This was right after - last drive of first half- we sacked UTC forcing a long third. They do a ‘give up run’ a d get 15 yards. I’m surprised they didn’t try harder to push forward a FG on that last drive after getting to 50
Only down by 7 thanks to D steadying themselves after a bad start. If someone can explain our Offensive game plan I would love to hear it.Is there a rule that prohibits us from throwing a screen pass? Let’s go steal this thing in the 2nd half.
I honestly cannot explain it.
Some of the misfires are having a true freshman QB and a true freshman as a key WR target. Some stuff is just miscommunication.
We aren't having success setting up plays because we aren't running the ball well enough to force UTC to respect it. We aren't running it well enough in part because our coaches won't just let the RBs put the game on their back.
Even if they stop it. Keep running.
Two years ago Hamp Sisson came off the bench and jump started a sluggish offense into a victory over the Mocs in Chaty. Maybe time for a little dejavu? Just sayin’

Half time O adjustments were great. Used up a whole minute on that drive

HALF TIME STATS:
Furman total yardage - 80
UTC total yardage - 230
Within that UTC rushing 150.. Furman 60. So we arent running well which puts extra pressure on a pass game with a true Fr. That's not a great recipe for success. No run game. Fr QB. Eventually we have to develop OL.run game
and 3 and out wtih huge pressure on Wilson to start the half. CMON O - this is BAD

So, we split out Roberto. UTC was confused as to who the CB needed to cover.
Then we run like a headless chicken the other direction.
Look, if we are going to probe for matchup advantages and confusion, fine, but utilize it.
