FU vs. WCU (Asheville March 3rd 8:30pm Quarterfinals)
I like the draw. Get a WCU team we've hammered twice. Will be a fun game with two fan bases that can easily make the trip.
Seems like a probable rematch with ETSU. We avoid UNCG, Mercer, and Wofford until the finals.

Unfortunately Furman schedules their spring break the same weekend as the SoCon tourney so like always I don't expect there to be many students up there at all, Furman has really got to make changes to that on the academic calendar in the future
Nevertheless I am hopeful the FU fan base will still show up in force this year, we have a great team!

Huge trap game. Beat them twice, including about 10 days prior, and they get new energy by seeing the tourney as a mulligan to salvage their season.
After last year’s tournament performance, I don’t think we will overlook anyone this season.
Not sure you can have a "trap" game in a one-and-done post season tournament. Every team needs to get your best game.
While it is difficult to beat a team three times in a season, Furman is, for whatever reason, an awful matchup for the Catamounts. Furman beat them by 34 in Greenville and 23 in Cullowhee.
Do not let them hang around and think they can beat you.
I agree. There is no such thing as a trap game at this point in the season, especially in the tournament. We are dialed in and focused. Furman screwed up their entire academic schedule when they went from the Trimester system to the Semester system, all so that school can end and graduation can occur prior to Maymester beginning. I doubt the school really cares about Spring Break interfering with the SoCon tournament.

Which is truly unfortunate, Wofford, UNCG, ETSU, WCU have all had massive student crowds for Socon tourney championship games since the return to Asheville which make for a tremendous environment.
Best thing we can do is do our own part and be there! Hopefully Furman will get the bigger picture one day and make the necessary changes.
