Asheville is a f***** up town with wacko leadership. Not only have they defunded the police, now they are requiring proof of vaccination and/or Covid negative test results to enter a venue. I am all for the vaccine but think freedom is more important. Doing crap like this just makes people against the vaccine more adament and determined.

NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! I hope this policy, put in place by Harrah’s, not the city or county, is still in place for the tournament. The city itself has just a mask policy for its buildings, just like we do in Greenville. People deserve freedom to know that safety measures are in place to protect them from the virus. I don’t want to be around a bunch of misinformed yahoo’s that still think the virus is a hoax. Besides, those people have the freedom to not go to the tournament if they don’t want to wear a mask or get vaccinated. God bless America! As for Asheville defunding the police. That did not happen. Those few people that want this to happen are still upset with city council over their decision to increase funding. From the Asheville paper. "With the stated goal of seriously addressing Black Asheville Demands of divesting from the police and investing in Black communities, these proposed cuts fall way short," said Haynes, who added that this is still a net increase of $4.1 million in the Asheville Police Department budget over five years.” Notice the key word, increase.

By all means GO TO THE TOURNAMENT. LEAVE YOUR CAR UNLOCKED. If you have any problems, call the hippies I'm sure they will have a citizen's watch group formed since 84 cops have resigned. Call it the Roundball Tourney, official paid attendance ONE.

You can be assured that if you attend any public sports event, at any level, you will be around a bunch of misinformed yahoos, regardless of their Vax/Mask stance/status.

You are right, and it is true that you WILL be around misinformed yahoos at almost any public sporting event in pandemic years AND in non-pandemic years.

Exactly if the crime is $1,000 or less you will get no response from the Asheville police since they are so understaffed with all the resignations. If the crime is $1000 plus, good luck and get in line.

Wait … you must’ve missed this…

From the Asheville paper. "With the stated goal of seriously addressing Black Asheville Demands of divesting from the police and investing in Black communities, these proposed cuts fall way short," said Haynes

That amount, obviously, needs to be raised to at least $5,000, and for violent crimes, loss of a limb / eye or a blood-gushing wound should be the minimum required damages to warrant the measured, cautious, and hesitant intervention of (some type of) law enforcement.

I’ve got news for you. It’s that way in Greenville too, unwritten, but nevertheless, the same. Our great men and women in blue have more important issues to deal with than petty crime. Ask one.

Roundball, Absolutely not true. We had an unusual party in our neighborhood that got out of hand Saturday night, no real crimes and the response was quick and effective from the Greenville police.

Sorry. Apples and oranges. Petty theft less than $1,000 is different from disturbance of the peace.

Don’t want to argue but I’ve seen several videos from Asheville of peeps going in stores, picking up stuff and walking out without paying with no resistance. Never seen any of those in Greenville. I have complete confidence in Greenville police, not so much in Asheville. Greenville police has a huge presence in downtown Greenville. Read the above post where palafan was in Asheville all day and never saw a police person. That won’t happen in Greenville.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
