That is on a Tuesday night. Students will be out so there should be some tickets available. Hope I can land a couple and make the trip.

Win??
We’re thrilled to just get to go and play our once in 40 or so years game against UNC-CH.
Actually in the 1970’s and 1980’s, we played them nearly each and every consecutive season, though usually in Charlotte. Beat them 2 consecutive seasons.
Don’t think we played them in the 1990’s at all. Haven’t looked yet to see when we’ve had the good fortune of playing them in the past 20 years. I cannot recall any times. This year may be our first game with them in over 30 years.
Maybe someone on here can look that up and say when the last game against them was.
******** OK. Have looked now. Possibly overlooking something, but it appears to be true that we have not played them in over 30 years.
Since 1990 or so, they’ve schedule Radford, Winthrop, Charleston, Davidson, Catawba, Lenoir-Rhyne, Elon, Wofford, Presbyterian, High Point, Richmond, etc., more than the ZERO times they’ve scheduled us.
Will it be another 30+ years (2052 or after) before Furman gets to play them again after this season?

Hubert is not exactly loading up his first year schefule is he, lol. This is great game. Would really like to know how CofC can get major teams to play them in Charleston in their smallish arena and why we can’t get a half way decent team to come to the Well with 3 times the capacity.

I remember CBR talking on the AllDin podcast about assuming the home and home with Richmond would be moved to this season. Not sure if that is still going to happen. We also had a game with Duquesne get cancelled. Either of those A10 opponents would be great.

Maybe we can get Davidson to come back to Greenville!

Any one of those 3, home OR away, would make this year’s OOC even better.
As always, I wish we could have (at least) 1 more OOC game against a “known” school located outside of (or even inside but nonACC nonSEC) the ACC & SEC footprint, whether away or (even better though unlikely) home.
(Admittedly I’m hard to satisfy, always wanting more or better. But I’ll claim it’s the nature of many “fans”.)
For examples:
Wisconsin
Oklahoma
Kansas
Drake
Northwestern
Colorado
Utah
Arizona State
Nebraska
Gonzaga
UCLA
Marquette
Air Force
Pepperdine
Rice
Tulane
Georgetown
George Washington
Denver
Penn
Yale
Harvard
Columbia
Baylor
SMU
Creighton
William&Mary
Richmond
Davidson

You know as well as I do.
UNC alumni and fans in the upstate of SC have frequent opportunities to go and see their team play at Clemson. Charleston can get them to come because there are plenty of UNC alumni and fans in the low country, Charleston, Bluffton, Hilton Head, Beaufort, as well as Savannah, etc., who cannot get so easily to a game in Clemson, or in Greenville. Plus Charleston is far more of a tourist attraction/destination for people from all over the country than is Clemson or Greenville (or Chapel Hill/Durham for that matter). We just have to work a lot harder and maybe pay a whole lot more to get teams to come. It is difficult. Very difficult. I am not necessarily saying that it is impossible or that we should not try.

Acceptable OOC this year.
Agree! An excellent start. Still a long way to go, 8 more to go. 31 games total since the MTE is exempt. One or even two more “name” games would be nice. A couple of mid-majors at the well would be nice. We know some NGU and SW types are coming but this is an excellent start and has the potential to be the best ooc schedule in a long time.

Nice!! Thats the second Friday night home game. 7 more to go. Have to wonder if the ASU game might be at the well.
BTW the season starts on Nov. 9th this year. Sure would be nice to see an updated roster on the official site,
