Running game in high gear the first half: 23 carries for 53 yds.

Vs a team that is a lot of underclassmen... We SHOULD be able to run better than this. I am trying to be positive but our run game...

Positives - we came out throwing and it worked for the most part. sisson makes things happens with his feet
D has held them to 7 points. Good overall job by D

Cons - we are making their true Fr QB Peevy look great - he started and we let him have full confidence going 8/8 or something. I would think we wouldve gone after him more to get in his head.

real bad - we have 140 yards of O at half... again with the problematic O.
- Mercer is all over Sisson - he is probably holding the ball too long some.. but man, the DDL (#48) is in our face before we can throw. We really need more help from OL

summary- OL has to block better on both runs and passes. We have to learn to throw the ball away some... quit taking 10 yard sacks.

Yep, offense is still boring and inept.

yep - good OL makes everything work.. now on the play before for 2 yards Sisson got hammered on play action. That is just happening far too often and I don't know why with the same OL as we had last year for the most part

Obviously not. The last 2 possessions we piayed like we were sitting on a one score lead. Gotta love that 2 yd pass on 3rd and 6. Defense making Peevy look like Brady. By far Mercers best passing game, over 300 yds, previous high was 206 which was their only 200 yd game. Average 146 a game, more than double that already.

how many times do we stunt and get right to Peevy and yet he moves and hits someone ? ?

Anither bad play by Bell. Dont catch a line drive kick at the 10. You can see it coming lose 16-14.

When you run on every first down it doesn’t take long for the defense to figure out you are going to run on every first down.
