Well, we get to watch OTHER teams play in the tournament again. Just can’t imagine how good it would feel to be sitting around a week waiting for the brackets to be announced. I guess we will never know. I guess we could ask WC.

Will probably be UNCG, but they are no better than us. There was a lot of parity in the SOCON this year. We are not yet above anyone else.

We couldn't win Socon when Frank Selvy was at Furman...frustration for Furman goes way back to the 50s...never expect to win this tournament..just one of those things...at least we split the doubleheader this Saturday....blowing a 15 point lead does upset my stomach...

Up 13 with 6:12 to go. Up 10 with 3:18 left. You could play that final 6 minutes 100 times and Furman wins 99 of them. One basket down the stretch and it’s over. Simply a stunning collapse. Team should be the clear favorites next year assuming everyone comes back and no major injuries, but we couldn’t have asked for a better path to the finals and we just choked it away.
Clear favorite? Seems like VMI is clear favorite. They have COY, great Frosh and never quit attitude. VMI hit big shots when it counted and Dins didnt. Plan and simple

Dins end on 2 game losing streak.

We can argue later on about why this team will be the favorites next year.

Actually we played a solid game until the last 5 minutes. Maybe our best game of the year (vs Alabama game) based on the tourney stage. All 5 starters played pretty well. Shot 50 % overall and 44 % from 3 with 12 3’s. We just could not make the big shot down the stretch and did slow it down too much.

We got out rebounded 39-30 which hurt us. Not sure I see Pugh getting 26 minutes and Slawson 22. Pugh did have 9 points but was 1-5 on 3’s.

Two brutal losses to end the season but still proud of our guys and congratulate Clay Mounce on a phenomenal college career. Happy Alex will be back and believe CBR can still get it done at Furman.

Couple corrections . We played well until the last 3 minutes, and its not we couldnt make a big shot we coukdnt make A shot! I remmber thinkng when Slawson missed the second free throw with 3:18 to go we have a 4 possession lead with 3 to go. What a fool I was. Ok VMI we’re going to give Furman 10 points and play a 3 minute game. See what you can do. Just unbelievable we choked this game.

Yep as bad as we feel, I hate it for the coaches and players. It will take a while to get over this debacle.

Despite blowing the 10 point lead we had a chance to take it in OT. I suspect that by that time the horse was out of the barn mentally.

If Furman was down by 10 with 3:18 left and won a tourney game I would think it was miraculous. We kept having “another chance” this season but finally ran out of these. We just could not get over the hump .

Gurley really came on strong the last 6 games or so. Hopefully that will serve him well in the offseason.

I’ve said for three years that Gurley could be an NBA player. If he can get more consistent he could be absolutely dominating next year. Bothwell should be first team all conference. As should Hunter. Could have three first teamers.

The recipe for blowing a 13 point lead is to not score a basket the last 6:11 of the game. Terrible! UGH!

Yep, Gurley showed what he is capable of. Back to back career high games. Hopefully things will get back to normal next year and we can play in the postseason either in the CIT or CBI.

Wow didn’t realize that. That is terrible.
