Mercer edged out by Abilene Christian University within the friendly confines of FIve Star Used Cars stadium.
Five Star also sells New Cars in their 20+ locations (3 in SC)...

...that said...the $$$$$ they give to Mercer to have their name on the stadium is certainly well used by the Bears

Don't love the name, but "Five Star" is better than "Larry's New and Used Car Emporium Stadium."

It can be 5 Star whatever, but it’s quite a few 0’s and a couple of commas...which is nice.

Don’t think so. It could be Feb. 27th.

April 10 is the only weekend there are only three SoCon games scheduled during the Spring season (Feb 20 - Apr 17). citadel and Furman are both open that weekend. Plugging the game in there makes the most sense.

February 27 is possible, but would take some shuffling of the schedule. I assume they would move the ETSU/VMI game from Feb. 27 to Apr 10. Then have ETSU play Mercer instead of VMI on Feb. 27 freeing up citadel to play Furman that weekend and citadel to play Mercer on April 10. Feb. 27 then becomes VMIs open week.

Feb 27:
citadel/Mercer
ETSU/VMI
WCU/Samford
Woffy/Chat
FU open

April 10:
Woffy/WCU
ETSU/Mercer
Samford/Chat
Furman and citadel open

CHANGE TO:

Feb 27:
citadel/Furman
ETSU/Mercer
WCU/Samford
Woffy/Chat
VMI open

April 10:
ETSU/VMI
Woffy/WCU
Samford/Chat
citadel/Mercer
FU open

Your suggestion seems a bit complicated for our SoCon staff. Past experience tells us that they don't have the capacity for analytical thinking.

Full game is here:

Ike West's run is at 2:37:50

Watching the play again, I'm shocked we scored. GSU lined up with more men to the field side. We tried a little play action, but GSU didn't seem to bite. Ike West just outruns everyone.

You don't see him on the play, but you know Bratton was outside doing work. When West crosses the goalie, Bratton's the only purple jersey around about 5 Eagle defenders.

One of the best if not the best game ever played in Paladin Stadium.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
