• Day off for all student athletes

Designating it as a day off for all student athletes means no competitions on that day.

So the hidden advantage of the NCAA doing this is for the non-athletes (spectators, officials, building staff, vendor staff, ticket staff, ushers, security staff, media) to have one less excuse to not go vote.

But it does also encourage student-athletes, student spectators, student assistants for the teams, to go vote in person, if they have not voted in advance such as by absentee ballot. And for those who cannot go vote in person due to where they are registered being distant from where they are attending school or due to having an away competition, it also encourages/reminds them to make timely arrangements to be able to vote by absentee or mail-in.

Good move. Voting is important.

Vote early and often. That is what I was always taught.

Not that I necessarily disagree with the move, but I would think most NCAA athletes that vote would have to do so by mail.

A nice initiative would be for the respective athletic departments to assist in receiving mail ballots for those students who do not live in a short proximity to their residence.

Excellent move by the NCAA. Voting should be easier, not harder. Election day as a national holiday, increased early voting, increased vote by mail, additional precincts and voting booths should all be implemented as soon as possible.
