Back to scheduling...

Jon Rothstein has confirmed Furman will play at University if Louisville in the non conference.

I think this will be a great time to play a Louisville team losing 5 seniors and probably Nwora to the draft.
His source prolly came from here. :D

Loyola was a 2-for-1?

It was a 1 game deal the first time we went to Loyola, and this past season was the beginning of a home and home series, so you should be able to catch the Dins in Chicago next season

So, probably going to Cincinnati (X), Chicago, & Rock Hill.
Need to find about 5 more OOC-away games.
And about 6 total OOC-home games of which 3-4 of the 6 will be, I expect, D-2 or below; with 2-3 of the 6 OOC-home games being D-1. It does not matter much who the 3-4 D-2 or below will be (perhaps SWU, NGU, Newberry, BJU).
****The question I hereby propose for discussion:
****What 2-3 D-1 OOC schools do people think we will realistically be able to bring to Timmons Arena for 2020-2021 Men’s Basketball?
Maybe (my preferences bulleted:
•UNC-W?
•CofC?
Campbell?
USC Upstate?
Charleston Southern?
OR, what schools would YOU want realistically for us to be able to bring in as D-1 OOC home opponents, from near or from far away? Realistically. ****
——
(As far as the 5 OOC-away games, I suppose they will be whoever we can get [and beggars can’t be choosers: who knows, maybe for example Arkansas would be one, just to pull a name out of the air; or maybe Oklahoma State, just to pull one out of the air; or maybe Memphis; not expecting more than one, maybe none, from that level of a name].)

Lipscomb. Great mid major program and BR has friends on staff.

Belmont. Heck, get them both and in a year we can save on transportation and spend a few days in Nashville.

Radford. A good Big South team that’s not Winthrop.

W&M. Ascending program.

Liberty. Another top mid major.

Anyone A-10. Let’s compare ourselves to the top mid major conference.

Hopefully there should be at least 3 or more games at the well so don’t forget those and that could open up a bigger list of teams for h9me games. The revenue justifies it. Rough figures:
3 sold out games at Timmons: 7,500 x $11=$82,500
3 games at the well this season: 14,400 x $15=$216,000

Don't forget that we have to pay to use the Well. Didn't we hear $50,000? I am not sure if that was for one game or for all three. Also, don't forget that season tickets holders paid anywhere from $12.00 to $14.66 each for the games at The Well. There is no doubt we still need to play more games at The Well.

Great question!!
Apparently we are going to Louisville, where Chris Mack is the HC. Someone stated on this thread that our getting that game related to Jeremy Growe having been associated with Mack at Xavier. So I got confused & thought/said we were going to Cincinnati (X) (X=Xavier) for a game, when I should have thought/said Louisville. Shorter answer to your question: my deficient cognitive ability and posting in a rush. I apologize.

I assume the (X) next to Cincinnati meant we are playing Xavier.

Might be cool to have a mid-major version of the old north-south double header, alternating between Nashville and Greenville with Lipscomb, Belmont, Woffy and Dins.

You are correct, it meant that; but we are not. (See above explanation, 5:09 PM.)

We’ll prolly never know what it cost to use the well but remember that Furman is already a sponsor of the well so the $50k number is prolly way off base. Can’t imagine paying them all that money and paying a high fee on top of that. I would hope Furman was smart enough to negotiate a real good usage fee when they became a sponsor.

I like the Radford suggestion due to closer distance than Lipscomb & Belmont & W&M. But I like all your suggestions. My choice from A-10 would be Davidson, then GW, but I’d take any of them we could get.
