We're 83 in the Net. I'm having a hard time believing there are 82 teams better than FU. On a positive note, we are ranked higher than 5 ACC and 3 SEC teams.

Just to illustrate the unfairness of that ranking system, ETSU beat LSU at LSU and the Tigers are 22 and the Bucs 53. Too big a spread. And we beat ETSU.

UNCG beat Georgetown on the road too, and G-town is 48, and UNCG 71.

Shewed way too much in favor of P5. All of us know that. Just had to vent. SoCon deserves two teams in this year.
Yes it is definitely skewed. Here is a perfect example. Tonight Duke struggled mightily against #154 Boston College before winning by 8. They moved up a spot in kenpom. Btw another example of how an entire team can shoot poorly at the same time was Duke tonight as they were 0-14 from 3 before finally hitting one with 7 minutes to go.

FU up to #72 in today’s NET rankings. ETSU is #43 and UNCG is #63. How are quad wins/losses determined? I know it is based on rankings but is a certain quad win/loss determined by rankings when the game was played or is it based on current rankings?

If we could pull off wins at UNCG and ETSU that would be 2 quad one wins which would be big.

ESPN's Bracketologist Joe Lunardi has ETSU listed as an at-large entry in the NCAA tourney in his latest projections. Furman is listed as a #12 is the last bracket from 2/07 playing #5 seed Arizona in Sacramento but actually part of the East Regional. Don't know if that changes in tomorrow's update. Two bid SoCon sounds nice.

To be ranked so high ETSU has certainly had some ugly games. Generally having watched a fair # of ETSU and UNCG games I think they are better teams than Furman. But not that much better AND they both have their moments/games where they play poorly. Just have to hope that we play well when we play them because we have certainly had our moments/games where we have been bad.

Now Wofford, I think we are a better team than they are.

The rankings aren't impressed with our one point win over Woffy. Getting out of NIT range considering the automatic qualifying bid thieves.

If you have any doubts the the rankings are not skewed towards the big boys, consider this: Duke lost to an 11-15 team by 12 points and dropped one spot in the kenpom and stayed the same in the Net rankings. In other words losses to bad teams have no effect on certain teams. :( :o 8-)
