UNCG played the kind of defense that will win a tournament if that can be sustained. I do not want to see them in Asheville. We’ll see if they can match that performance when we visit Greensboro. Hopefully that game was them peaking too soon.

They are not peaking. Don’t forget they had lost 2 straight before this game.

If we had won the game the standings would have been:

Furman 5-0
UNCG 2-3

As is it is:

Furman 4-1
UNCG 3-2

A shame we did not get over the hump when we got within 6 with 6 minutes left and later 4. Despite our bad play a good bit of the night, it was there for the taking.

For sure. Was hoping to at least split with the top teams, wining at home but that can't happen now unless we can win at uncg. Even though we hold a one game lead on uncg now they will have a chance to erase that in Greensboro and then hold the tie-breaker.

That is a lot for one loss but if we had kept in the 6-8 pint range we'd prolly be around 65.
With beers at the Well priced at $10 a throw, I found it rather easy to stay in the 6-8 pint range, and I'm only 64.

Disappointing finish after a great comeback. The team will be kicking themselves after they see how many points off of turnovers they let UNCG have. We need to get dialed up to beat Western at home. Also why did the HC from UNCG get to coach? I thought ejections led to a minimum suspension of one game. Is the SOCON commissioner his uncle?
I could only find the 2013-14 SoCon manual online, which states: "9.2 Ejection/Suspension Policy: A coach or player removed from a contest for any reason shall be immediately suspended from their teams’ next contest."

I'm assuming the rules have been changed since this was written.

Updated kenpom rankings this morning and last night's loss cost us 11 spots, down to #70. That is a lot for one loss but if we had kept in the 6-8 pint range we'd prolly be around 65. Those last couple of minutes when we disappeared really cost us as far as rankings go.
ETSU dropped from 58 to 72 and they beat VMI by 6....interesting...

VMI is #298 but to me they aren’t that bad to be in the bottom 55.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
