We didn't play our best game of the year, but we toughed it out and won a close game on the road against a well coached and well prepared opponent that looked to me that is better than their record, and that's good enough for me.

If I was the coach or a player, I wouldn't pay any attention what so ever to anything written on this board.

While I agree to an extent, I have read everything on this board and don't think anything has been to absurdly harsh, if you think so please refer me to something that is over the top negative, I can't really find it

Being 11-3 right now is great, sets up some really cool games ahead!!

However, one thing that absolutely MUST improve before we get into the meat of the SoCon grind, our REBOUNDING

It isn't absurdly harsh, but like on the football board, there is always some subjective opinion of what constitutes a "good" performance. We apparently need to beat Mercer's basketball team by more than two and Western Carolina's football team by more than three touchdowns.

I suppose there's a point where everyone can agree that a win is objectively a "good" win, but I don't know where that point is.

That said, nobody is arguing that we are a finished product or the showtime Lakers. Get wins, move on to the next game. They aren't all going to come easy.

Every win is a good win, considering the alternative.

An opponent with a winning record or some other reason to think they are above average seems like a reasonable standard for a "good" win.

Prolly not. Mercer is not very good as evidenced by there 15 point loss at home (65-50)to FAU tonight which was FAU's first road win of the year. It was more of a case of the Paladins just not playing well, which is ok, we still won. Teams have bad games. It's a long season.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
