Exciting game, good atmosphere. Wish we could have held that bigger lead. Winthrop has played everyone tight. Their 4-7 record is deceiving. Their biggest loss of the year was by 13 at Duke and that game was tight all the way. Duke only lead by 7 with about 5 minutes to go. They lost 3 games by 3 points and 1 by 4 points. Their other loss was by 10 at TCU.

Glad to see Lyons break out of his outside shooting slump in a big way with 26 points and 4-8 from three point land. Mounce had 9 rebounds and 7 assists in addition to his 17 points. Gurley with 15 points and 9 rebounds despite a dislocated finger.

Once we got comfortable lead at half there did not seem to be much excitement in 2nd half. We need to learn how to play 40 minutes and close the deal. Mounce was off from 3 after he knocked down his first one. The word I would still use to describe the team is that there is just too much INCONSISTENCY.

Lyons shot the 3 better tonight. That was the most encouraging part of the game to me. Crowd could have been worse-I thought realistically it was pretty good. I think with that size crowd (2,700) we have a much better home court advantage at Timmons Arena-but I understand why we are doing this. Seemed like sort of a ho-hum game to me. Need to have a larger crowd and more energy for UNCG and Wofford.

My guess is 2,100 to 2,500 absolutely max. Winthrop is not a drawing card even if they are a good team. Xmas season. I suspect it (folks in sears) will look sort of bad.
I think this might be close. Really depends on students. Another thing is how many season ticket holders show up. If you have a Christmas party you could still go after the game. On Turesday I counted 1,969 tickets sold.
Official attendance (per box score): 2,752
Good start considering we played Winthrop, good environment tonight
We should be shooting for 3k for the UNCG game and 4k+ for Wofford game

I suppose it’s a matter of perspective but I thought we played well overall for 30 minutes. And the last 10 weren’t bad. Well coached opponent; better than their record.

Further, maybe I attended a different game, but I thought it was a big time atmosphere. I’m certain the players loved it. Crowd was decent; I was actually encouraged. Just as Paul C said, I also saw folks who don’t typically come to Furman games and are not alums.

Students will still be on break for the UNCG game. Hopefully some will come back early for the game.

Mounce played 37 minutes, 3 more minutes than anyone else. 17 pts, 9 boards, 7 assists, a block and a steal.

I agree with everyone but purplehorse, don't know if he was at the game but doubt it. Very exciting atmosphere, crowd was great. Wish we could have finished a little stronger but we got the W. Really enjoyed the game. Hopefully this is just a preview of things to come. Looking forward to the next game at the Well.

I completely disagree with everything you said. Great atmosphere. You could feel the energy. Nothing ho-hum about the game.
