The reason Jaylon isn't seeing additional playing time has nothing to do with his shooting. Watch closely...
There's a lot of upside with Jaylon but he needs to keep working on his team defense, spacing, where he's supposed to be on offense, etc. There's more to basketball than just chucking 3s.

Jaylon Pugh's lack of spacing and defense is not a big concern to me, but I am no basketball coach. We have lacked offense and he brings it every game, no matter the opponent. I say let him chuck threes and it will probably make up for any miscues on the defensive side of the floor. He is shooting nearly 65% from beyond the arc.

Well, this is more or less the opposite of CBR's on-court coaching philosophy...and so far, it's served him (and Furman) very well.

Furman ranks 9th in the NCAA in 3 point attempts per game so it can be both ways my friend..... Might as well have someone who shoots it above 50% throwing them up.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
