Another good season will only build on RE-establishing a mystique like Stanford enjoys at the FBS level or Davidson in basketball.
Fixed it for you.
Thank you, Paul. I can use all the help I can get . :)

Wofford peeps are also crowing about their unusually early haul of amazing commits. Not sure about the rest of the SoCon.

Reckon if this apparent trend is related to the early signing day? Could it be that FBS Schools are now being more ‘honest’ with kids on the ‘bubble’ resulting in them recognizing the value of and/or feeling the pressure to making a commitment to an FCS ‘committable’ offer before ‘the next guy’ does.

Or, maybe it’s just the results of last season for Furman & Wofford.

Or, maybe it’s the new energy of essentially new Staffs in both places.

Or, something else or something ‘elses’

Or, just coincidence(s).

What y’all think?
I think you are on to something with the early signing significance, Bear. Aside from the usual silliness with the 5 star recruits dramatically putting on their choice's hats, this makes sense to me for a serious kid who has the opportunity to attend a really good school and play an exciting brand of football at the same time.(or maybe a serious Mom & Dad). There is a lot to be said for the early commit. Go have a great senior year in high school while recognizing that life waits just around the corner.

From his tweet Bryce McCormick, 6-2 215 TE/LB, from Christ Presby has committed. Second 3* recruit.

Was Tenn East/Middle defensive MVP last year, also an all-state basketball player. Bunches of FCS offers.

the coaches are on a roll…

CPA is a loaded team Furman also has offers out to Noah Henderson WR for CPA another 3 star. Wofford has an offer out to William Horne LB at CPA not sure if Furman has offered him too.

Can’t tell if he will be coming as a TE or LB. Looks good on both sides of the ball.

Just a note: CPA’s head coach is Ingle Martin. McCormick reported an offer from Ga State as well where he was recruited by Josh Stepp. Also had an offer from Mercer as well.

So, nearly 15 years after playing together, Clay Hendrix, Bobby Lamb, Ingle Martin, and Josh Stepp are connected on the recruiting trail.

A little twitter sleuthing… I'm off work :D McCormick is connected on Twitter to a couple of other Furman offers - of special interest to me, I have my fingers crossed we get a commit from Connor Meyer. Not sure what Meyer will play at the collegiate level — DT/TE/H Back at 6-3 250 he's fast physical and nasty. Meyer is from OHIO and is recruited by Lamendola.

Any way we could get a running list on the first post, JohW?
Sure. I'll do it later today.

Article confirms, as you suggested, that he'll play safety.

My inclination is to watch the safety position as fall camp starts. Furman has 11 players listed at safety, and have added two more guys in this class that played that position in high school. I don't think they will all stick there.

In my view, high schools tend to put their most athletic players on defense at safety, giving them freedom to move, cover, and tackle. FCS programs tend to recruit that position heavily due to the athletic flexibility of those players. Some guys are a more natural fit for the position, while others can likely be deployed elsewhere.

Any news on who the fourth defensive commit is?

So is McCormick the fourth one coach Staggs tweeted about? Havnt seen anything else about a commit. This kid is super athletic and could play either but film was impressive on the dark side of the ball. Has that thump when he hits you. Great start Dins
