Charleston Southern beat Missouri tonight
That is amazing. It is the biggest upset in the last 15 years of an unranked team. Missouri was a 26 point favorite. Charleston Southern hit 45% of their three point shots while Missouri was hitting 15%. Charleston Southern came into the game ranked #352 out of# 353 in three point percentage but hit 8-11 in the second half. Missouri had 17 more rebounds - 47-30 . CSU had9 fewer turnovers.
This first month of the season has seen three of the biggest upsets in more than a decade. Evansville beat Kentucky, Stephen F. Austin beat Duke, and now this one. The SFA win at Duke is the biggest upset of any team in the past 15 years.
Missouri is now 4-4. Their other losses were to Xavier, Butler, and Oklahoma. CSU's only other D1 win was against Delaware State. They had lost to the Paladins by 44, to Dayton by 29, and to Michigan State by 48.
