those visitor bleachers at EKU were wood - and we filled them so tightly we all stood the entire game - good times.

Standing was a way to avoid splinters.

I was the person in the Alumni Office who organized most of the bus trips people are talking about on this thread. I am glad people have happy memories of them! I definitely remember the long day to EKU and most assuredly the epic trip to Marshall in '88. I rode the bus to Marshall then swapped with another staff member and got to fly back on the team plane. A less happy memory was a trip to Marshall when we got stomped. Don't remember the year, but it was in their new stadium. Long ride home after that one.

Randy Moss in his striped stockings and Chad Pennington. Ahh, Marshall memories. I was there.

'96....after beating N. Arizona in Flagstaff. IIRC Kresser was still the starter at QB for Marshall.

I stand corrected. I think I was only at one beating by Marshall at their new stadium, and it was the Pennington/Moss show.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
