I think they want to RS Marcus Foster, but if they need him they'll play him. What we saw last night was a "let's see if we can do this without him" approach. And that might be the case for the first few games of the season.

And on JP, yes, he's got a green light. He's the best pure shooter on the team. I think they'd love to see him be that guy off the bench that can come in and hit 2-3 3's per game. IMO he's the 8th man (after Clark and Bothwell) and Foster if we need him is the 9th guy.

If you have 13 scholarship players available redshirting makes sense. Seems more iffy with only 11 guys on scholarship. Somebody is out sick, someone else sprains an ankle, and you have to worry about any early foul trouble that could cause you to lose a game or two you ought to win.
