This would make sense. Wasn't 2005 the year of Katrina, so Nicholls came to PS after playing like 9 games all year? They might not have even been able to host a game if they had wanted to.DungeonRealm wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 8:56 pmGood pointyouwouldno wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 8:35 pmMy guess is that Nicholls didn't even submit a bid, not sure if Furman really "outbid" them.
My strategy for getting extra people out is to set up a good tailgate--early--every game, and everyone who knows me knows all they need to do is show up. Some just come for the tailgate, others will buy tickets. I consistently have people with no Furman connections at the game with me. Lots of them return, and some turn into basketball fans too.
apaladin wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 12:46 amUpdate on the ticket sales: If my math is correct and I think I am very close. There are around 3,200 seats available on the home side not including the 2 sections for students and band. If you add in the 200 or so in the press tower and the app. 1,675 designated for the ban and students that would be about 7,000 attendance for the home side. Add maybe 1,500 Citadel fans and cadets and you are looking at about 8,500 peeps Saturday. Of course the student/band section will not be full so drop that down to about 7,800. Of course there are still 3 days until game day so more tickets will be sold and hoping for a good walk up crowd. Of course we don't make it easy for walk ups.
As was possible at Samford.Davemeister wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 11:10 amAt least nobody will suffer heat stroke this Saturday.
I'm not sure why I was getting the "sold out" message yesterday, but hospitality tickets are definitely available today. My six non-Furmans will be happy.hypercycloid wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 2:42 pmMy strategy for getting extra people out is to set up a good tailgate--early--every game, and everyone who knows me knows all they need to do is show up. That said, I've got six non-Furman people trying to come to the game with me this week. Three of them want to sit in the hospitality zone--where my tickets are. Apparently that section is sold out for this week. Does anyone have or know of any extra h-zone tickets for this week?
I always hear different things on rain affecting passing game vs running game. sure seemed to favor Furman's north south running game in Western game two years ago... thoughts on that ? What does rain favor? what type of game> curiousapaladin wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 11:48 amYep been watching the weather for the last week. Most long range forecast had a beautiful fall day, sunny and low 70's. Of course we knew that it would change as it always does and it has now calling for 50% chance of showers in the afternoon. Should still be ok for the game. Subject to change. Accuweather still shows sunny and comfortable. The doomsday twins on channel 4 still show a nice day Saturday with rain late. I will be there regardless.
I'll take sunny for $500 please, AP.apaladin wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 7:59 pmLike I said it will change. Now 70% chance of rain beginning early and becoming steady. It has gone from sunny to rain in less than 12 hours. Why do they even bother with "extended" forecasts?
