Delaware 3-3 just lost 42-7 to unranked Elon and still in top 25. Towson 3-3 and just lost 38-21 to unranked Albany and still #18. Just goes to show you how hard it is to drop out of the top 25. Anyone believe Austin Peay is a top 20 team? Remember they lost to ETSU and barely beat Mercer. Are they better than Woffy? NO!

yeah, not to be too 'one game tunnelvision' but its the TREND (just like us in 2017) - Woff lost 2 first games trying to pass more and learn new blocking schemes .. then have won 3 straight by running (not all triple option though). and they KILLED ETSU. watch the game.. they blasted ETSU in a cakewalk.. they remind me of our 2017 team in terms of trending. That's a fair analysis I think. People laughed at us in 2017 when I asked (on AGS BOARD) could we make playoffs if we got to 7 or 8 wins. They look like that kind of team. The diff in 2019 Woff and 2017 Furman is they are deeper wtih 12 seniors and the whole team has been practicing option for 4 years. We were just learning our first year of CH great stuff and Quarles/ Staggs etc. We were neophytes in our system. They have changed systems but are back to 30% option and mostly other running schemes so are vastly more experiencee in what they want to do than we were in 2017. They have an all-america OL and 2 other OL studs and it is starting to show. They owned Etsu. The weakness they have is the loss of the Mangum and other guy on DL. And that is good for us

Only other SoCon schools getting votes is Wofford and...wait for it...VMI! They are 3-1 in #SoCon. Last time they won 3 conference games was 2002; last time won 4 conf games was 1979. The last time they won at least 4 games overall was 2008 under #SparkyWoods.

Congrats to VMI ! first time w that SHako in 17 years I think? Woff is 32nd in STATS and already 30th in COACHES. prior to this week they were about 34th. So a 3 position rise. I maintain they could be 25th (which is good for us!) by time we play them as they should beat Western and Mercer honestly. Just math. win and next week 28th... again and 26.. They will lose to Clemson which leaves the game of Chatt. That will be interesting. If Woff wins that they will have gone from 3-2 now to 6-3 (w Clemson as loss). They will be fringe on 25. It's in our best interest in a way for them to be 20-25th when we play. That gives us a top 25 win... or a loss to top 25. On other hand if they lose to Chatt they are out of SoCon running w two SoCon losses. . My suspicion is at home Woff beats Chatt and we face a 25th ranked team - again, always best for us and conference for two or three teams to be ranked.

I have asked before - I'll ask on AGS too. All the polls are cool but there is one they (committee) said they look at - I think it was COACHES ?? Is that right? they said it on TV last year during selection show.. can someone remind me which poll they mentioned?

Long way to go, but potentially hosting Wofford and then going to NDSU would be just about worst case scenario for me personally. Best case (unless we move up higher than I think we will) would be first round bye, host game, go to Kennesaw, go to anyone that’s not NDSU (or get lucky and host semis), play someone other than NDSU in Frisco.

Look at this which has us seeded but seeded 8th w NDSU looming. I agree w FUFanatic as I don't want this setup either (though we should maybe not be getting greedy) .. no fear of Woff but I don't want NDSU that early. Get seeded 7th - anything but NDSU that early. This is all way too early (NO JINX) but I might even (sounds crazy I know that) rather NOT be seeded at all and play KSU and Woff and stay away from NDSU as we and the SoCon need someone to make quarterfinals or final four.

Give me anyone but NDSU path - plus flagman told me snot actually freezes up there so he would probably rather go somewhere else

Look, if you want to deny facts & fundamentals of football to continue to defend your opinion, there’s not much anyone can say that hasn’t already been stated..Even YOU just showed how ETSU had cut the anklebiters’ lead by scoring 2 2nd half TD’s AND didn’t allow the yardyappers to score in the 2nd half...until their game clinching TD with 3 minutes to play...at which time, but not until, the outcome of the game was clearly “in doubt.”

So...next time one of FU’s opponents has scored 2 TD’s & shut out the Dins in the 2nd half & has the ball on the Furman side of the 50 in the 4th quarter, with a chance to score & put themselves in a position to tie the game with only a FG; log on here right then & post that the game is not in any doubt.

Regarding NDSU, if you want to be the best you gotta to beat the best. So if getting a seed means our 2nd game is in Fargo, so be it.

I'm more than happy for that to be the way things go, however if we win out we should be higher than the 8th seed which means we probably won't have to face that. Although a 2nd @JMU game could be in the cards....
