I might have pulled an early ticket for Campbell - but after last week's losses, there is so much trash out there trying to fill a poll of 25 teams.

Others Receiving Votes: Central Connecticut St., 30; UT Martin, 23; Southeast Missouri St., 20; Sam Houston St., 18; Wofford, 17; Campbell, 15; Stony Brook, 15; Florida A&M, 10; Eastern Washington, 9; Alcorn St., 6; Houston Baptist, 6; Idaho St., 6; Murray St., 5; VMI, 5; Portland St., 4; Lamar, 2; Elon, 1.

Of interest to me is that Austin Peay is 19th and rollin (SO FAR) in OVC but lost to 0-3 SoCon ETSU. Glad ETSU won that one. I think w Cit beating GTech and CSU. and us beating CSU and showing so well vs FBS those are best wins for OOC

Trying to help out with others questions. Several times it has been asked which poll the committee said they use as a help - apparently it is the COACHES poll. So watch that one closest if you want

Well, we wanted to be a top 10 team and in the national conversation. Here we are.

Now, what are we going to do with it?

Amazing how many Missouri Valley, Big Sky and CAA teams are in the top 25 of all the FCS polls. Meanwhile Furman is the Southern Conference representative.

No use finger pointing there - we own that one.

The SoCon scheduled winnable OOC games and fell flat on their faces to begin the season. Wofford has no business losing to SCSU. Samford got trucked by a MVFC in Montgomery, and then lost to an OVC team they should have beaten. The Citadel had a couple of shots at CAA teams, and botched both of them.

I think the talent right now in the FCS is about an inch deep and a mile wide, but the SoCon didn't do itself any favors by looking awful out of the gate when there is so much movement in the polls early on.

For Wofford, their only real shot at a marquee win this season is to beat either Furman or Clemson. I'll let you guess which one they'll be gunning for.

right. no blame anywhere but for our conference. VMI doing well in conference but loses to Bob...
the only good wins were ETSU (0-3 in SoCon) beating top 20 Austin Peay. that is looking better. Citadel beating CSU and then GTech. Furman beating CSU and then playing so well v FBS. all the others are junk - needed Mercer to beat Austin Py or Woff to beat SC State or...

Of course, Furman let other SoCon schools carry their water for a long time while we stumbled out of the gate every year.

Same thing in FBS, Clempson is the lone representative from the ACC in the top 25. They are still a sure bet to make the 4 team playoff.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
