I hope to be there, if tickets become available on the GW website. Their ticket ordering page is pathetic. Looks like you have to actually call into the ticket office.
My son and I went to the GW game in Boiling Springs a few years ago. We tried to buy tickets at the gate...they had a small card table set up and were only accepting cash. Not sure if it's still this bad...but I'd prepare accordingly.

What the heck lol

Some tidbits:

"GWU Head Coach Craft has won 111 games in his first six seasons with the program, which trails only Hall of Famer Eddie Holbrook in Gardner-Webb's senior college era. His Runnin' Bulldogs were undefeated at home last season and have gone a dominant 24-2 in Paul Porter Arena over the past two seasons"

"Blue Ribbon recognized sophomore swingman Jose Perez (6-5, 200) as the preseason Big South Player of the Year, and the Bronx, N.Y., native is the team's top returning scorer after breaking onto the scene with 15.1 points, along with leading the team with 5.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game"

I called GWU athletics department and was also told all single game tickets for the Furman game will be sold on gameday at GWU

That sure says a lot ... One being that they know it won't be close to a sell out, and two that they can't afford to have either online or over the phone orders.

Yep
Looks like their biggest crowd last year was 2,100 against Winthrop, their arena holds 3,500

3 weeks until tip-off!
I'm struggling to keep my enthusiasm in check.

This time last year I was writing-off the season after having lost Beans, JDIII, Fowler, & Sibley (while retaining *only* Rafferty & Brown). This year we're returning four starters and arguing over whose filled-out the most and which freshmen might be added to the rotation.

I am cautiously optimistic. I hope we can overcome the loss of MR without a lot of trouble but expect we will struggle at least for a while. MR is the biggest single loss of a player since Jonathan Moore.

I’ll concede your point. My point is whether anyone at this time last year expected to be saying that today. Assuming none of us was so certain, then can’t one (or more!) of this crop be the next Matt Rafferty? I’m on pins & needles.

A big difference is that Jonathan Moore was one of five seniors who were all key members of the rotation. All of them were starters at some point in their careers.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
