All wrongs haven't been avenged yet. Kennesaw St. is due to for a Paladin thrashing. Could happen in the playoffs. There are some rs and true seniors that have not forgotten 2016. I bet they would love to get the chance!!!

CCH and this staff have done an awesome job. Recruiting will continue to be strong as success breeds success and guys will want to be here. Hopefully it resonates with the fan base, and we can fill the stadium up like back in the day. Kudos to the staff and players for stepping it up. Things only seem brighter as we are still a very young team.
Also we have won 9 of last 11 SoCon games including all of 2018. Losses in 2018 to ETSU and Sammy. 2018 6-2, 2019 3-0 but w wins on Sam and ETSU as all rights are reserved and all wrongs are avenged
That's a good point we have been on a roll for a while now. Just need to focus on progression which I know this staff will do. They have their eyes on one thing, and that is getting back in the NC conversation.

Consolidation of all the computer rankings pretty in line with what the eye test shows...sad, but the SoCon resembles the ACC....

Maybe Samford a little overvalued and VMI underrated....

9. Furman
34. Wofford
45. Samford
62. Chattanooga
69. Citadel
73. ETSU
82. VMI
92. Mercer
111. Western Carolina

Losing to Robert Morris (101) will have that affect on your computer ranking.

Since we're on the topic of Massey Composite Rankings...

I never look at computer rankings as you can take a bunch of numbers and get them to say anything you want. I would rather rely on humans who don't have a clue and have their own agenda. Just sayin' ;)

Personally I think Woff wil be the test and will improve the SoCon standings overall. As FUBeAR said elsewhere they finally realized to not fix what wasn't broken! They tried an air raid and screwed the pooch v SC State. Started runnin again and played close but lost to Sam. Then all run and some option - beat Gwebb (easy I admit) then beat VMI (decent this year) and beat ETSU impressively ON ROAD. As Jackal said, if Woff can handle ETSU he is starting to lean to Woff as better than he thought. I think it is becoming clear all they had to do - and remember they were picked to win conference !!!- was go back to the plays that Wade Lang knows how to call.

And that's what they have done - though they left pure option for some standard runs and some option. But they have gone back to almost all run plays which is what their QB and OL were recruited to do ! Sometimes coaches outthink themselves. They threw 23 times vs SC State - LOSS. They threw 7 times vs ETSU in a strong win. Not only that Woff dominated ETSU outgaining them 450 - 250 yards. They are coming on strong because they finally realized they need to do what the players they have can do. Remember, they have all the seniors (12+) - it was next year we said (in pre-season) that they would have to rebuild some. they are a very very senior-laden team this year. much more than us. Just sayin' I see them as improving fast and no way are they 34th in nation. They will be top 25 when we play them. the positive? It's good if Woff is top 25 when we play them as hopefully both go to playoffs or SoCon gets some recognition. Honestly, we NEEED someone else (even if we don't like them) to do something good so we at least stay a two bid league

Cue PaulC ... :D

I'm not particularly worried about Wofford.

They are a good team. They were expected to be a good team. It's not shocking that they righted the ship a bit after a few bad performances.

that's basically what i was saying . I think they are clearly top two in the league now. I do think that will help the SoCon down the line if we can have two top 25 players which I suspect we will within a few weeks and, of course, I have to 'worry :D

Hard to tell about WC. I think they are a good team but man their schedule has been ridiculously soft so far. This week they get a bye and have a bye next week when they play WCU at home. ETSU is by far the best team they have played since the 2 early losses. They have had a pretty easy schedule to "practice" against with not much pressure of any chance of losing so that should help them. They play at UTC on the 26th which again I think is a decent team but who knows.

Wofford never has a particularly difficult schedule. They've played Gardner Webb something like 6 years in a row.

I think they will be a good challenge, but nothing Furman shouldn't be prepared to meet.

I hope they keep winning and get back into the top 25. It'll make a win look better and a loss less bad.

Looked at Socon stats today. VMI really has some players for the passing offense. More of a challenge than previous years.

Right. If we lose and Woff is top25 it’s not a bad loss. Better for SoCon. They would then move to top20 and a 9-3 FU team w two FBS losses and one FCS loss to top 20 is in. But all in all better if we have two top 25 teams in SoCon than one. We may not like Woff but we need to avoid becoming the Big South ! Also I do think SoCon is making coaching changes to improve. UTC a little better? VMI is better already. That’s good. I suspect Mercer May make changes soon which I hate personally but may be necessary. Randy Sanders at ETSU is one we will have to wait and see. The one I don’t get is Western. How does that guy keep his job? Do they just not care

To the point of Woff playing no one I agree w exception of ETSU. Furman w two FBS is the only team that has played anyone (Samford and ETSU are ok) as unfortunately the whole SoCon is pretty easy right now. Our next games are Cit and western ...

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
