STATS has us 14th going into Saturday.
#11 Central Ark. lost to #16 Nicholls
#10 Illinois State lost to #1 NDSU
#12 UC Davis lost to North Dakota (unranked)
So, we may see Furman move up a few spots with a convincing win on the road.
Jackal, I was looking at that too - UCA vs nicholls may be one of those where Nicholls jumps us and UCA falls below us and we stay pat - we could drop a spot if Nicholls jumps us and UCA stays above us.
The UC Davis is good -that has to help. Not sure how much they punish ISU for losing to NDSU - everyone does.. lol
UCD has lost to good teams, but at a certain point you have to penalize them for those losses. FU has not lost to an FCS team this year.
using STATS or COACHES it is fair:

Fupaladin8, Agreed. That is what I said.. UCD is the one that will help us. standing at 12 in last weeks poll they lost to an unranked and they will fall below Furman (14). They will. We are 14th in both polls. The others are questionable as the two teams are right above and below us which is tricky. For instance, Nicholls is just below us at 16.. and they beat UCA at 11 so Nicholls could jump us and UCA fall below us - which would be correct and yet Furman not move. We could not complain about that.. I mean, if we are 14th.. and 16 beats 11 - well, 16 goes to 11 and 11 goes to 16 and Furman, for that case, stays unchanged at 14.
Now what could be tough is if 16 jumps us because they beat up number 11 while we beat on an unranked ORV... that's fair. But if 11 doesn't fall below us because they lost but it was to 16. Then we actually lose a spot ! But lets see what happens. We started the year at 20 in both polls (roughly) .. now we are 14th.. we continue to move up and you also need to look at vote count. We are getting more votes now by far ! We started w 1000 votes in stats (look at my link and change back to preseason) and now we have 1900 before tomorrows vote... we have almost doubled ouir voted count in STATS. not sure what our vote count was to start year in COACHES but we were about 20th and now 14th.
All that said, it is fair when you look at the prior week's ranking and what happened. Hopefully we jump over Illinois State in STATS maybe.. not happening in COACHES poll as they are 6th and lost to NDSU.. probably fall to 11th or so but will not affect us and honestly, shouldn't ... if they lose again we will move up
We probably move up 1 in both polls tomorrow is my guess.
