I saw Morehead at the spring game he was in street clothes standing with the running back group. I love Morehead but he's played through injuries his entire collegiate career, maybe he said enough is enough.
Wayne Anderson Jr will arrive on campus this summer, he's a dynamic running back.
In the spring Wynn played but Watkins got the PT and he looked fast and was hard to bring down. Wynn and Watkins make an impressive versatile duo, they're different types of tailbacks but compliment each other. Anderson comes in at 5-10 185 and he should gain a few pounds, putting him in the same range as Wynn (5-11 195) and Watkins (5-9192). Watching Anderson's film since he popped up on our radar with an offer he runs with power, has breakaway speed, and he can catch the ball. It would great if Anderson could redshirt with the four-game rule Furman can.

2019 commitment
The last word I got on Morehead was in the early part of spring practice. He was finally feeling OK and was very much looking forward to the season as a situation type back. He was still the fastest kid on the team and I heard they planned on using him on reverses and as a receiver out of the backfield. Then he got hurt once again and I think he felt enough was enough. I was as excited about him as a recruit as I've been about just about anyone. On film he had a gear I don't think I've seen a lot of SoCon players hit. Well I return to the board and... this. Good grief man. Morehead fastest guy on team gone. People said Voyles experience would have really helped. And Hackett had potential.
People say this is opportunity for Freshman ... true. But I would rather have returning experience than opportunity. EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK.
Hope we replace those guys well.
Will say that every time I read something it seems we miss a LB. Slay. Veneziale. Superstar freshman Ellis left last year. Now Hackett gone. Oh well. Please no more LB losses

McKoy (Jr) and Perryman (Sr) backed up by Gilby (R-Fr), Agbenou (Fr), and the possibility of McCormick (Fr) playing LB instead of TE makes me feel ok. All three "backups" are high level recruits that should provide depth this year and move into starting roles in the next couple.

I hear the two new defensive back coaches (Ojong and Wright) are well-liked by the players. I'm guessing here that played a role in Weems coming back and not graduating and ending his playing career. THAT is a great sign.
Concerning Jax Hackett and the linebackers. I would have loved to see if Hackett could develop into a role player for Furman. With Agbenou and several PWO linebackers coming in Furman should be in good shape at linebacker.
McCormick is an interesting talent - a legit two-way player. Does he play linebacker does he play tight end. Bryce could end up at linebacker - take a redshirt and be Agbenou's partner for years. When I think about McCormick in the future this path makes sense. BUT. When you watch McCormick play tight end and play basketball (I believe he was CPA's leading scorer) he might be a better talent as a tight end.
Walker didn't play in the spring (injured) that left Miller and position changed Ben Page. Page looked really good in the spring. Has great size 6-3 235 and fits the athletic, mobile tight end mold that fits the Furman offense. If Walker is out for 2019 - That might be why McCormick ends up playing tight end in 2019.
