Matt Rafferty played great especially with the bad hand. Unfortunately the injury turned out to b a major factor if not the factor. MR just didn't have the touch with his right hand. It was obvious. He was able to get his normal shot but just didn't have the touch. MR never misses 9 shots in a game. I applaud his heroic effort.
I wasn't paying close enough attention, I suppose. Camera is far away from action there in Asheville, plus watching on laptop. Yeah, that's huge. Other guys needed to step up.

I read in the article featuring mid majors and word from their coaches and CBR mentioned that MR would not have played had it not begin the tourney semifinal. Seems pretty serious...

What about next Wednesday for our NIT first round game? Any info about whether the injury will still be affecting him?

No clue. I imagine unless he needs surgery, he would be able to play after a week and a half. Not sure his status...

I saw him get taped up before the game and knew it was big trouble. Just having that much tape on his hand severely hampered his shooting touch and there's no telling how much pain and discomfort the injury caused him. Had he been healthy he would have made at least a half dozen more shots and we probably would have won the game.

I don't think there is much doubt. When taking 10 shots in a game MR had 2 games under .500. This game and Loyola when he was 7-16 so this was his worst shooting night of the year. The 2 previous games against UNCG he was a combined 16-23.(6-10 & 10-13). That's just Furman's luck, an injury to the best player at the worst time. MR is to be commended for his efforts.
