I know we went to the NIT in 1991 but since 1980 have we ever gone into a SoCon tourney and knew regardless of what happens the season will not end in Asheville? Will this be a plus?

Although we are still a strong contender for an at-large slot in the NCAAs, I even get nervous about the NIT, despite the fact that we are probably in contention for a 1 seed. Are we sure we won't get hosed out of everything? This would come across as a joke if the pessimistic part of me wasn't serious.

Early 2d half and WCU and VMI combined 15-33 on 3 pointers. Entertaining game so far. Not more than 2-3 points either way

Bubba Parham goes off and scores 41 as VMI beat WCU.

VMI wins 96-83.

Bubba Parham scored a career high 41 for VMI. Patel had a career high 22 for the Keydets. Western Carolina was lead by Carlos Dotson with 27 points, 13 rebounds and Kameron Gibson added 23 points for the Catamounts in the loss.

VMI had a lead around double digits for most of the time I was watching. WCU kept trying to cut into it but never got closer than 7.

Parham scored 33, 38, and 41 in his three games against WCU this year. He hit 9-16 shots, 6-8 three pointers, and 17-18 FTs. VMI hit over 51% of their threes for the game.

Wofford will be a big favorite but that kind of shooting has to make them nervous about tomorrow.

He was going to drop a class when he got back from Asheville. Apparently someone from the school decided to go ahead and process the dropped class, dropping him below full time status.

Samford up 25 over Citadel. Ugly. Samford has underachieved I think with some of the talent they have?

citadel was bad with Stallworth. They are REALLY bad without him. Doesn’t bode well for the future that they lose their two biggest weapons in Stallworth and Najdawi.

They’ll just round up some more Grad Transfers next year, who never spend a day as part of the Corps of Cadets, yet trot them out as ‘special Student Athletes’ under their banners of “Honor,” “Duty,” and “Respect.”

I bet some Alum inside the Athletics/Academic Dept. down there, who ground his/her way thru 4 years in a Cadet uniform down there, saw this coming and let it happen. Those types can’t be happy with the bellhops increasing usage of 1-year Rent-a-Players in hoops & in Football.
