Wondering if he’s hurt or just losing minutes to some of the younger guys.

First 20 games - avg 15 1/2 min/game
Last 8 games - avg 9 1/2 min/game

And last 4 games only 7 min/game

He has pretty much played his way into reduced minutes the last dozen of games. Too many TO's for the time he's played. I think he has only one game(VMI) where he has scored more than 2 points, several games were 0 points. we could use him if he plays well.

They gave him a shot at backup PG and he struggled vs some smaller quicker G’s and they went back to Bothwell. Wonder if that experiment hurt his rhythm and confidence as a backup wing and shut down defender.

Very well could be a confidence thing like you said. Hope he can get back to playing the way we know he can. Right now we could use a couple of people to step up off the bench besides AB. Down to crunch time now and I don't see a lot of PT off the bench except AB.

Turnovers are a killer in BB and unfortunately, he turns it over a lot. He is big enough and athletic enough to be a great defender and a good rebounder - a role player on a team with enough scorers. We don't have that as yet. What he isn't is a point guard and that is obvious. Neither is Bothwell and apparently the coach does not think Pugh is ready. Ergo, Hunter plays too many minutes and may now be wearing down. We are playing without a point guard capable of giving us 11-12 minutes off the bench. WC has an excellent one in a freshman from Minnesota. Mike Young really uses his bench very well. Big factor on Saturday. He has a good 10 man rotation. We effectively play 7.

TRE IS A GOOD DEFENDER, but the other parts of his game are a little raw. offensively he sometimes forces things when its just not there. But he can help us if he plays within himself.

The only capable backup we have to Alex right now is Bothwell. And as you guys say, he’s not a PG.

In hindsight, Jon Jean would have prob got 10 min per game if he had stayed but when he had to make his decision we had Andrew Taylor lined up for those minutes. I don’t blame him at all for leaving. He’s a good kid that wanted to play.

Next year Colin Kenney will play that role and probably play it well, but this year it’s an issue.

Getting Tre back on track for 10-15 solid minutes a game seems like a key to the rest of our season.

BTW, Jon Jean is averaging 28 min/game, 10.0ppg, 5.1apg, 2.7rpg and 1.2spg while shooting 47% overall and 44% from 3.

Happy for him. Hard working kid with a great attitude that deserved a chance to play.

I am not surprised at all by those numbers. He's a good player and would have helped at FU this year. He took care of the ball and penetrated very well. He saw the handwriting on the wall when he was not John Davis' backup and instead pretty much rode the pine. I am happy for him that he got a chance to play more basketball. He is a very good kid.

Shooting 47% from the field including 43.9% from 3 and 74.6% from the free throw line. We could have certainly used all those numbers in a reserve role.

I'd be willing to bet McGoo doesn't have quite the good game Saturday if Tre Clark is birddogging him the entire time. In hind sight, we wouldn't have given up any offense having Tre out there.

It seems to me that Tre is lining up as a small forward on offense. So he is adjusting to a new position. His high dribble was finally exposed and I believe he will be a better player as a small forward.

No question about it. He shot over Hunter w/o even jumping. Whatever Clark's shortcomings on offense, he is a very tough defender. I think it was Daniel Fowler who pretty much shut him down at Timmons last year. Fowler is his size and had a hand in his face all night.
