The game will be broadcast locally on WMYA, Charter 705. WMYA is also broadcasting the women’s game at 5:00.
Look for me on TV. I'll be wearing purple.
;)
You were prominently displayed...about every 5 minutes or so.
And i was sitting right next to him. Hopefully they focused on him!

Un-beatable, apaladin, is 1995-96 Davidson, which won games by an average of 20 ppg in conf...They lost in SoCon title game, 69-60, to Western Carolina...Were a perfect 16-0 vs. SoCon competition.
Believe that was the #16 WCU team that lost to #1 seed Purdue by 2-3 points. Could have easily been UMBC before UMBC was UMBC.

I was just pointing out that they really don’t have any signature wins... but... NO bad losses!! Give them an at large already!!
They probably consider beating South Carolina a signature win, especially considering the margin. We would also, if we had played and beaten South Carolina this year.
...By the way - Who knows - maybe we and South Carolina both will somehow end up getting into the NCAA tournament this year and playing each other in a play-in game. Would a SoCon conference tourney champion ever be given a play-in slot in the NCAA tournament instead of a regular first round top 64 assignment?

It is certainly possible. The NCAA tournament has eight play-in teams. Four are conference champs with #16 seeds. They are the four lowest rated teams and play Tuesday or Wednesday against each other. Four teams are the last four teams given at-large bids and play as either #11 or #12 seeds against each other in play-in games.

An upset SoCon tournament winner absolutely could get a play-in game. A last one in team could also qualify.

If Furman had beaten Wofford in the SoCon tourny four years ago I guarantee we would have been in a play-in game against another #16 seed.

A SoCon touney Champ would only be in the 16 vs 16 play in games
Never in the 11 vs 11 play in games, those are at large teams, If Furman wins the tourney we would be well above the 16 seed line, probably a 12 or 13 seed
USC is 11-11 and only chance they have at the NCAA tourney is to win the SEC tourney

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
