They only have 3 long shots for a loss left. UNCG, @FU and @Sammy. They could finish 26-4 with their only losses to P5 schools. They still would not have a signature win.

This was another excellent defensive effort. Really like the effort and alertness and consistency. If we can keep it up against the better teams we can get something done in the conference tournament - three days of defense like this can win you a championship. Western just could not get a good shot for long stretches. Also liked the solid contributions off the bench. Bothwell's best game in awhile - he was very much under control.

Looking forward to Saturday's big showdown.

There was virtually no pressure in tonight's game but we only shot 40%, 21% from 3 and 57% on free throws. None of these shooting percentages will be good enough to challenge the top 3. Looking forward to Saturdays game and the rest of the 4 game home stand.

Great defensive effort tonight. WCU had very few unchallenged shots tonight and that certainly contributed to their low scoring. However, we were low scoring as well. We are a much better offensive team when driving to the basket or taking pull up jumpers. I do not understand why we take over 30 3pointers each game when we don't shoot them well - 22% tonight. It doesn't matter a great deal against the lower teams in the league but it sure does against the teams ahead of us.

There was virtually no pressure in the game as it was never really in doubt. Still we only shot 40% for the game, 21% from 3 and 57% on free throws. That won't get it done against the top 3.

Un-beatable, apaladin, is 1995-96 Davidson, which won games by an average of 20 ppg in conf...They lost in SoCon title game, 69-60, to Western Carolina...Were a perfect 16-0 vs. SoCon competition.

Furman is allowing 59.4 PPG over the past five games...That's the kind of stuff John Kresse would be proud of, and it will win you a SoCon title in Asheville if you keep it up!..That's almost a guarantee.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
