Who will please comment on this FCS championship. Montana State is within 3.
Not following your logic, if you’re serious. If we assume NDSU is playing within the rules, then everyone else already has a chance. To be the best you gotta beat the best.Affirm wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 10:34 amNDSU has won FCS championship 10 times IN the 14 seasons since 2011.
PROPOSAL:
After any season when ANY school has won FCS for the 4th time in the span of the 5 seasons that include that 4th championship, said school should be defined as and declared as “Honorary Precious Champion Non-participant” for the following season’s FCS Playoffs
… or some such plan should be enacted.
*(Actually I feel that 3 times in 4 years should be
enough!)

PS: The combined total championships of ALL the current FCS schools in the Dakotas, Montana, Idaho, and Washington is “only 7”.
ALSO PS:
1. If this proposed rule had existed since 2011, the only years in which NDSU would have been playoff nonparticipants would have been only 2 years, 2016 and 2019.
2. Even if this proposed rule were already in existence, NDSU could win FCS championship for each of the next 3 seasons before getting to the “4 of 5 limit” making them no participants.
*So, maybe my stated preference for “3 of 5 limit” should be considered as a better idea than it might seem.
