Great move by both programs to move quickly and get the game scheduled. Any insight into why Mercer agreed to go on the road?

* Mercer has 6 home games already.
* UGA, GT, GaSou, & GaSt ALL @ Home on 9/7.
* For whatever reason, PC wanted a Home game & a 12th game bad enough to make it worthwhile for the Bears to bus up to Clinnon next Sat. $$

Maybe Furman is in the process of negotiating with Stetson to go to DeLand on 10/12/19, whereby we would be able to have a 12th game. Or maybe we would be able to get Stetson to come to Paladin Stadium in 10/12/19, whereby we would have a 12th game and a 7th home game. Both Furman and Stetson have a bye on 10/12/18.
It appears Stetson now has only 4 away games and still has 7 home games, even with the Stetson-PC cancellation.

We already have 12 games and I can’t imagine we would want to move our bye (and drop Point) to pick up Stetson, who royally screwed us last year.

I made a mistake, and I apologize for that. I was counting only 11 this year, including Point. I counted wrong. How did Stetson royally screw us last year? Were we trying to get them to play us in place of our cancelled game with Colgate?

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
