Yep, now have lost 7 in a row since then, Heading for another losing season. Time to dump softball so ED can save some money.

Softball is here to stay unless we get rid of additional men’s sports and/or add adequate number of new women’s sports. It’s Title IX. The comment about beating SEC team and then losing reminds one of baseball. Rare win against some big team, very few care about or know about said win, then the team subsequently continues with bad results. Yeah, sounds very much like Furman baseball.
But again, it is Title IX. Title IX. Title IX.
In addition to money, money, money.
Do you need to be reminded of that again?

Don’t know why you keep bringing up title IX. It’s not about titke IX. Wofford has 9 mens sports including baseball. Furman has seven, no baseball. Wofford has 10 womens sports, Furman has 9. Furman had baseball for over a hundred years. It’s all about ED, period. WC 19 sports, Furman 16.

You should take a pill for your ED problem.

So if it is a title 9 thingy why is FU the only school in the country that can’t deal with it? Why can WC have 9 mens sports including baseball and FU only 7? No way its a money thingy. FU has plenty of money.

We cannot drop any men’s sports. We are at the D1 minimum. 7 mens 7 womens is the D1 minimum.

WC is 50:50 women to men. FU is 60:40 women to men

Scholarships are proportionate to the school population.

We should add baseball back but we will need a women's sport. Getting football and basketball back to the top of the conference can/should/will allow for more room to increase athletic budgeting for this. We are in an athletic recession

Actualky WC is 52/48. Add the 35 men back from baseball and FU becomes 58/42. By eliminating baseball ED made the ratio worse which of course is what she wanted.

About Us

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage

GoPaladins.com is not affiliated with Furman University or its athletics programs.
