VMI Series

Nine games left for the Paladins in SoCon play and ten games overall, starting with this weekend's series against the Keydets. Six of the ten are in Latham and, with a series at Woffy, all are in the Upstate except for a mid-week game against a very beatable South Carolina team. Time to make some hay.

Paladins rebound nicely after a disappointing Friday night showing to take the series after beating the Keydets 13-5 today. They even their record at 9-9. That's two SoCon series wins in a row for Furman.
Need to probably win two of the six against Mercer and Woffy to ensure avoiding the play-in game for the tourney. Sure would be nice to find a way to win three or more and finish at or above .500 in the league.

Pretty much assured of not being in the play-in game as the Paladins have a 4 game lead over 8th place VMI and the tie-breaker.

Four game lead in the loss column, but VMI has played 3 more games than us so we are only 2.5 games ahead overall. If they sweep their series against UNCG, they have the potential to finish 11-13. Five losses for FU against MUand WC will put us at 10-14. Not a likely scenario, but still possible.

Yep, that's why I said pretty much assured. VMI is not sweeping UNCG. Most likely they get swept.
