Baseball thoughts and memories

On a beautiful afternoon for baseball, I visited Latham Stadium today. Just as I've done most every second or third Friday in February for the past 25 years. Just like for the past 10, I wrote about it afterwards. It's long and personal, but hopefully therapeutic. Hope you all enjoy some of the memories I've shared.

I do think the most painful part is we were lead to believe that baseball programs would be shuttered around the nation. That wasn't the case.
I'm encouraged at least through the photo that the field looks in good shape. I'm still holding out hope we may once again see baseball. I'd love to know what efforts there are, if any, to try and accomplish that goal or make a self-sustaining program.

Yep, maybe baseball returns in 10-20 years, maybe after ED is gone but for us oldsters we most likely will never see baseball again at Furman. That brings more than a tear to your eye it makes you cry.
