The Year

I don't think anyone could foresee the season this team has had. Losing four important seniors and with lot of youth we were thinking middle of the pack if everything fell into place. This team far surpassed expectations but once again no ticket to the big dance for the 39th year in a row which is disappointing. I think this one may hurt a little more because of the season we had Things just seemed to fall our way in the early going. Let's face it, instead of 12-0 we could have lost several early games. What hurts most is it will be very difficult to duplicate the start we had this year with the big wins. Those type wins don't come too often for FU In the past except for a couple years we were just hoping to win the SoCon, not really having the team to do it.. This year we had a real shot so it may hurt a little more. We reached new ground this year having never been in the conversation for an at-large and what should be a sure NIT bid. This was a very rare year in that if we had gotten in it wouldn't have been just another one bid league that happened to win their tourney. We could have gone into the tourney like we belonged there. Unfortunately the ball didn't bounce our way at the end like it did at the start. I really hate it for Matt Rafferty and Andrew Brown as they deserved to go to the NCAA if anyone does. Congrats to the team and staff and especially CBR for a great year. To say it has been a fun year is an understatement. Hopefully we can make a little run in the NIT and we can all forget how bad we feel tonight and the fun can continue for a few more games. Go Paladins!!

Well said.

A couple wins in the NIT would be a great end to a great year.

Well said! Every game has been must watch. Can’t say that for most other years.BR, we need you back on the sidelines next year! Let’s finish the job before you move on to bigger things.
