A Week Off

The last 4 games this season when we have had 6 or 7 days off we have not been sharp offensively. In those 4 games we have scored 57, 56, 54 and 64 averaging 58 ppg. They were all losses. Overall shooting percentage was 37.5, 37, 35 and 46. 3 point shooting was 29, 22.7, 25.9 and 31.6. These 4 games represent 4 of the 5 lowest scoring games this season. The only other game that would fit in this group 60 points against Loyola the 2nd game of the season and the only win when scoring 60 or less. Hopefully we can buck the trend this week. I have no idea what can be done but I sure hope CBR figures it out.

I’m pretty sure Coach Richey has it figured out.

You neglect to mention the 90 points we scored after having the same days of rest as the 57-point game you did mention.
Also, the fact that those four games were at LSU, at ETSU, at Wofford, and home versus Wofford may have more to do with the outcome than the amount of rest.

The 90 points was in 2 OT's against at home against a bad WCU team and we scored 67 points in regulation. The point stands

The game you mentioned was a 2 OT game early in the season and why it was not included. It was at home against a bad WCU team and we scored 67 in regulation and did not shoot well. Including the WCU game we have had 5 of these type games, 2 home and 3 away and have not shot well in any of them and lost 4 of 5.

CBR addressed the poor performances in the 5 games after a week off last night on his show. He said he thought the game at WC was prolly their best of the 5 games and they had practiced hard all week that week so he is adjusting the normal routine and not taking so much "time-off" and having short but sharp practices.
