It was much better defensive intensity that created offensive opportunities that won this game. Defense wins games. By the way, it’s snowing hard near Paris Mtn. State Park. Roads are white.

Yea defensive intensity pushed Upstate out futher and created havoc with their offense. That was what was needed on this night when they were chocking down our inside game. Nice to see the team respond and get a tough win on the road.
Upstate is certainly not the toughest team Furman will play but they hung around. Glad to see Coach and team fight thru. Glad to see AB back and playing. This team is learning how to win.

Andrew Brown rolled his ankle at the end of the game. Same one that he broke. Hopefully thats all it is.

USC Upstate was Furman's first opponent that I've seen automatically double Rafferty from the get-go (until they abandoned it very late in the game). That was effective in the first half due to Furman missing a number of open 3s, but it didn't really look like a winning strategy to me.

Interesting moment in second half when Gurley hit a 3 to go up 11. He looked over at Upstate bench (said something?) At the next timeout Coach Richey told the team as they gathered around “Don’t ever do that!” Then, He had a few one on one words with Gurley.
Good to see coach quickly clamp down on that.

He did not say anything but he did shoosh their bench, probably just came out of him because all the mouth running USCU was talking in the first half especially their best player Moore, but yes better if we stay out of those games

And I took an instant disliking of Mr Moore because of it.
