NIT going back to Conf champ going to NIT if they dont get a bid. Only stipulation is a ranking higher than 125

the other change is this which is huge and gives incentive for Conf to be in top 12. So if the regualar season champ also wins the tourney there is still a chance to get second team from SoCon in

In addition, the top team not selected to the NCAA championship from the top 12 conferences (based on the Ken Pomeroy Rating) will receive an exempt bid to the NIT

Our aspirations shouldn't be for the NIT. It's a meaningless tournament for second best teams.

NIT is not our aspirations of course, Sweet Sixteen is the next goal (and if we keep Richey here then at some point we will get there)

However, I would rather have the NIT to fall back on if something goes wrong at the end of a good season, as opposed to the alternative which is nothing...

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
